This seascape was painted from that feeling of standing at the edge of the sea water and not wanting to leave. The rush of the sea wave, the splash as it breaks, the shallow water pulling back over the sand.
I painted the moment I wanted to remember: not the postcard version of the ocean, but the ocean as it actually feels when you’re standing in its waters.
Perhaps that’s what I want this painting to give you: the feeling of being there again.
This is my attempt to hold on to that moment. And perhaps, when it hangs in your home, it can become one of yours too.
